Last week Ms. Dailey's class proved that they could use addition to solve a real world problem. First, they created a really cool hamburger using their own creative ideas. They had to name the hamburger as well. Next, they had to decide how much their hamburger would cost. Finally, they had to add up how much it would cost to feed the entire class. Kudos to all the outstanding and tasty projects!

Dear K-3 Parents & Families,
We are having our first Read-A-Palooza day! On the 13th of December, students will be engaged in reading self-selected literature and language arts activities. There will also be read alouds from faculty members and invited guests. Students will be completing an in class shoe box book report float as well. Your child needs to read a favorite book and decorate a shoe box (or other similar sized box) with details of the book (this is a form of a book report). You must also attach a string to the box so that your student can pull their “book report float” in the parade! Be creative! They will present their reports during Read-A-Palooza. On the 30th, students may dress as a character from their favorite book!. Not every child has to dress as a character, they can wear school uniform. We are going to have a fantastic time celebrating READING!!!
Would anyone be interested in sharing your love for reading with our class? We need volunteer readers who would read a self-chosen book or selection of literature. Please try to choose a selection that requires around 10 minutes. Our TMSA or public library would be a wonderful resource to find a good book to share with our class! Poetry and chapter books are welcome! Just read a chapter, favorite section of the book, or a few selected poems to get students interested.
If you would like to volunteer to read to our class or another class please fill out the form below and return it to school as soon as possible. Time slots will be available on a first come first serve basis. If the time you choose has already been taken, I will contact you to see if there is another time you are available. Thank you for your support and participation! We can’t wait to celebrate the joy of reading!
Happy Reading!
